B.S., Kinesiology and Health & A.A., Coaching
At the young age of 5, I began to play football, basketball, and baseball. I grew my interest in sports and physical activity by watching all of my older cousins play the same sports, as well as watching sports on TV with my Dad. I stayed on the path of playing all 3 sports until the age of 16.
During my years at Decatur Central High School, my growth spurt took a major jump as I was a 6’2”, 250 lbs. Freshman. Soon after during my Sophomore football season, my recruitment for college football began as I earned 3 full-ride scholarships to play at the Division-1 FBS level. Toward the end of my high school football career, I chose to continue my education and athletics career at Miami University (OH).
While at Miami, I knew right away that if I couldn’t continue playing football after college that I would want to give back to the athletics community in some sort of way. My passion to serve others, along with my love for exercising, led me to study kinesiology and coaching. In my final year of college, after winning the MAC championship, I knew my playing career was over and I wanted to stay involved with both football and physical fitness.
After graduation, I decided to come back home to Indianapolis and Decatur Central, where I have been a fitness instructor and football/ basketball coach for the last few years.
Outside of my career(s), I enjoy staying active, being around my family, and continuing to learn from all those around me, both in coaching and life.
