Functional Movement Screen Level 1 Certified
My fitness journey began in 2012 when I was in high school. I was overweight from a sedentary lifestyle that was a result of a severe knee injury years earlier. My senior year, I decided to take a weightlifting course and took up running on my own time. I lost 35 lbs. and gained strength. I went from not being able to do a single pull-up to doing several sets of 10 in succession.
That was the year I realized how much of an impact health and fitness can have on quality of life. After high school, I was lucky to be afforded an education from Indiana University, Bloomington, where I studied health and fitness in kinesiology. I earned a personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a functional movement screen level 1 certification through Functional Movement Systems. In 2017, I became a functional aging specialist through the Functional Aging Institute.
My passion is to help others see the value in a healthy lifestyle. I believe physical fitness is necessary to achieve top mental and emotional well-being, and I believe it’s possible for everyone to have fun engaging in exercise. Through my studies I have learned to properly assess, program and progress all types of bodies for people who all have different goals and limitations. It is my duty to keep you safe and to help you achieve the highest quality of life possible!
